Carrie Blosser – Trumpet

Carrie Blosser is working on her Doctor of Music Arts in Trumpet Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Ms Blosser was previously the Director of Bands at Cooper Jr. Sr. High School where she taught beginner, intermediate, and varsity bands. She has also taught private brass lessons for students of all skill levels. Her students have participated and competed successfully at the region, state, and national levels at middle school, high school, and colligate levels

Ms. Blosser has been a finalist in the Rocky Mountain Concerto Competition, a semi-finalist in solo trumpet at the National Trumpet Competition, and a semi-finalist in trumpet ensemble at the National Trumpet Competition. Not a stranger to international travel, Ms. Blosser was a performer and participant in the “Exploring Trumpet in Greece” Workshop in Kalavrita, Greece, and a performer in the International Youth Wind Symphony Orchestra (IYWO) at the WASBE festival in Killarney, Ireland.

Ms. Blosser’s awards include a Special Commendation from the Colorado House of Representatives and the 2007 University of Northern Colorado College of Performing and Visual Arts Scholar of the Year. She received her Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado, Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Messiah College in Grantham, PA.

She currently serves as the conductor of the Rocky Mountain Concert Band in Lafayette, Colorado.
