Aaron Youngberg – Banjo
Aaron Youngberg, originally from Lincoln, Neb., moved to Colorado and started playing the banjo while he earned his degree from Colorado State University. He has been playing the bluegrass banjo for 10 years and in that amount of time he was awarded 1st place Larimer County banjo champion and became a founding member of the awarding winning national touring bluegrass band Hit & Run Bluegrass (2005 1st place SPBGMA’S international bluegrass band, 2003 1st place Telluride Bluegrass band contest & 2002 1st place Rockygrass band contest).
Aaron has performed all over the United States from the east to west coasts and in British Columbia. He has played on numerous studio projects and has been featured in the internationally distributed Banjo News Letter (Feb. 2006). He has over 7 years of banjo teaching experience and in that amount of time he as taught people of all ages ranging from 5 to 70 years old. He also specializes in coaching & producing bluegrass bands in performance and recording applications. Aaron also teaches, records and performs with the pedal steel, another unique instrument. He has gained a lot of exposure recently as a pedal steel player performing several times a week in local club bands and is currently pursuing a musical project that features him performing on both the banjo and pedal steel.
