The AD-900 Analog Delay was created after careful
examination of other analog delay units (including
the AD80). While most players voiced a preference
for the warm, organic tone of analog, many complained
about the short delay time (generally 300 milliseconds)
that they were limited to. In addition, distortion
and added noise due to hot input signals were becoming
a common if undesirable consequence of analog circuitry. |

The CS-550 offers an entire range of classic and
unique new chorusing effects. Based around the Panasonic
MN3207 (low voltage BBD IC, now out of production),
the CS-550's Rate and Depth control can conjure
every chorus texture from subtle to severe. The
custom-tuned oscillator circuit can provide enough
speed to authentically imitate rotary speaker cabinets
and just the right amount of modulation for a lush
vibrato that won't leave you feeling seasick. |
| |
The DS-830 Distortion Master was designed to act
as a versatile distortion unit with high sound pressure
and powerful low range at any volume level. With
the DS-830, even the smallest transistor amplifier
can have the presence and authority of a full stack,
and it will turn a full stack into a wrecking ball. |
| |
The OD-820 was designed to provide a wide range
of tube-amp overdrive tones as well as a transparent,
hi-gain clean boost. As the name implies, the OD-820
was intended for use by professional guitarists
with advanced playing techniques. The OD-820's expressive
tone reproduces fingering and picking nuances with
haunting precision, making the best use of any guitar
or amplifier's character. With a full-frequency
response, minimal compression and zero tonal coloration,
the OD-820 won't mask a player's performance weaknesses
like other overdrives can. |
| |
T he PH-350 Rotary Phaser was designed to offer
an extremely versatile effect unit that provides
consistent, low-noise, transparent operation. The
PH-350's features were selected after careful study
of other phasing units in order to provide as varied
and useful a tone palette as possible. Likewise,
certain functions and features were disregarded
in order to keep performance intuitive and trouble-free. |

The AF-9 Auto Filter represents the state-of-the
art in analog filtering. Like the original Mutron
III, the AF-9 uses a CdS Photocoupler (HTV #P873)
rather than a VCA at the heart of its circuit. The
unique sound of Photocoupler circuitry provides
a liquid, shimmering, vowel-like filtering that
cannot be produced with other components, giving
the AF-9 superior sound quality with lower noise
levels than the competition. |

The Maxon OD-9 may look just like your old favorite,
but that's where the similarities end. With improved
circuitry, the OD-9 stands at the forefront of the
Nine Series effects evolution. |
| |
The SD-9 has gained a huge cult following since
its initial release in the early 1980s. The SD-9
has long been prized for its ability to provide
an immense range of distorted tones, from punchy
overdrive to blistering fuzz, all with full-frequency
response and minimal tonal coloration. |
 |
The revised AD-9 improves on one of Maxon's most
coveted models in order to create the best sounding,
most reliable analog delay ever. Improved construction
including through-hole, glass reinforced epoxy PCB's,
snap-in PCB connectors, and true bypass switching
guarantee trouble free performance. The combination
of one Panasonic MN3205 BBD IC and one Signetics
NE570 compander provides warm yet crystal-clear
delay time with adjustable repeats and zero clock
noise. |
 |
The CS-9 Pro offers an entire range of classic and
unique new chorusing effects. With circuitry based
around the Panasonic MN3207 (low voltage BBD IC,
now out of production), the CS-9 Pro's Rate and
Depth control can conjure every chorus texture from
subtle to severe. The custom-tuned oscillator circuit
can provide enough speed to authentically imitate
rotary speaker cabinets and just the right amount
of modulation for a lush vibrato that won't leave
you feeling seasick. |
 |
T he FL-9's wide operation range and full frequency
response allow it to work with any input signal
to create a diverse assortment of modulation and
time-delay effects. Improved construction including
through-hole, glass reinforced epoxy PCB's, snap-in
PCB connectors, and true bypass switching guarantee
trouble free performance while the combination of
one Panasonic MN3207 BBD IC and one Signetics NE570
compander provides warm yet crystal-clear flanging
with zero clock noise. Rate, Depth and Regeneration
controls allow the user to dial in everything from
shimmering chorus and vibrato to hollow, metallic
overtones to thick, jet-like flanging sweeps. |

The AD80 captures all the classic sounds of the
most sought-after vintage analog delay units. Originally
released in 1979, the AD80 is arguably one of the
first compact analog delay units to reach the market.
While many have followed, none have surpassed the
AD80 in its functionality, versatility, or sound
quality. |

The CP101 Compressor provides clean, smooth compression
with ultra-low noise and incredible transparency.
The CP101's 4:1 compression ratio is so subtle that
it's easy to forget the unit is on until you
turn it off, that is. While it is on you will notice
note-to-note levels that are smoother and more consistent,
chords and arpeggios that are tighter and more focused,
and when used with an overdriven amp, sustain that
will last for days. Best of all, you'll notice minimal
coloration to your guitar signal and less of the
note-attack alterations so common to other compressors.

The CS505 Stereo Chorus was designed to provide
a warm, natural-sounding chorus effect with minimal
noise. For these purposes features and components
were kept to a minimum in order to maintain pristine
audio quality and a natural response. |
| |
The D&S can produce a wide variety of distortion
voicings, from heavy and thick drive suggestive
of a vacuum tube amplifier to extreme vintage fuzz.
Most notable about the D&S is that no matter
what the setting, it will retain your guitar's original
tone and picking response. In addition, the D&S
provides excellent note-to-note definition, allowing
complex chord voicings to ring clear and quick solo
passages to remain fluid and precise. |
| |
The D&S II Distortion & Sustainer II is
a precursor to the amp-overdrive simulators of later
years. With its mild drive, relaxed sustain and
high output, the D&S II sits the fence between
an overdrive and a distortion. This unique "split
personality" makes the D&S II perfect for
players that seek a natural-feeling drive sound
but with more drive and output than an OD generally
provides. |

The FL301 was one of the first low-voltage, compact
flanging effects to appear on the market. Its wide
operation range and full frequency response allow
the FL301 to work with any instrument or input signal
to create a diverse assortment of modulation and
time-delay effects, from clear chorus and vibrato
to thick and deep flanging. |

The GE601 Graphic Equalizer covers six carefully
selected frequency bands (100 Hz, 200 Hz, 400 Hz,
800 Hz, 1.6 KHz, and 3.2 KHz) over a five octave
range with 12 dB of cut/boost per band. The GE601
also offers a master output Level control with 12
dB of cut/boost. With careful use of these controls,
the GE601 can be used to fine tune your sound in
a variety of extremely useful ways, a few of which
are detailed below. |

The OD808 was one of the first tube-amp overdrive
simulators to hit the market. Its smooth, creamy
crunch tone caught on quickly, and helped to launch
a long line of predecessors as well as imitators.
Today, the OD808 design is without a doubt the most
used, most imitated and most lauded overdrive circuit
of all time. The reason for this is simple
tone. Simply put, the OD808 provides the natural,
mild overdrive of a tube amp without sacrificing
your guitar's original tone. In addition, it can
be used as a clean booster to provide increased
gain without compromising the sound of your amplifier.

The PT999 Phase Tone is deceptively simple. Yet
packed into this tiny blue box are a host of the
most authentic 70's era phasing effects available
in a current production unit. Simply by adjusting
the unit's Rate control a wide variety of expressive
phasing nuances can be coaxed from the PT999, all
of them whisper quiet and amazingly transparent.
The PT999's minimalist circuit frees your guitar
tone to be as smooth and responsive as it is when
served up a la carte (or a la effect, as the case
may be). |
